Maximilian Thönebe studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in physical electronics. As part of his diploma thesis, he dealt with the use of a VCSEL array in various interferometric applications.

In intellectual property law, Maximilian Thönebe has extensive experience and special expertise in the technical fields of electrical engineering, in particular power electronics and lighting technology, as well as information and communication technology. He also has experience in the fields of AI, telecommunications, antenna technology, optics, measurement and sensor technology, robotics and applied physics.

In addition to his work in application proceedings for individual inventors, small, medium-sized and large companies before the German and European Patent Offices, MaximilianThönebe has extensive experience in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and the European Boards of Appeal.

Mr. Maximilian Thönebe has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2013. He joined SKM-IP in September 2025 as a patent attorney specializing in electrical engineering and information and communication technology.
