Dr. Maximilian Macha studied physics (M. Sc.) at the Technical University of Munich and subsequently completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Regensburg on a topic at the interface between physics and mathematics.
Dr. Macha's academic background is in physics at the Technical University of Munich, where he focused on theoretical high-energy physics, cosmology and string field theory. As part of his scholarship-funded doctorate at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Regensburg, Dr. Macha worked on the development of a mechanism to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the context of the theory of causal fermion systems. His studies have taken him to Israel and to research institutions in Switzerland, Italy and Australia.
In the field of intellectual property, Dr. Macha works mainly in the fields of electrical engineering, information technology and physics, but also in the field of mechanical engineering. In addition to obtaining intellectual property rights before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, Dr. Macha is primarily involved in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office as well as in national and international infringement and nullity proceedings.
Especially in the field of telecommunications technologies, Dr. Macha was entrusted with the preparation of technical arguments in national infringement, nullity and nullity appeal proceedings for standard-essential Wi-Fi-6 patents, where he was able to contribute his mathematical knowledge. Dr. Macha was also involved in technical analyses and the preparation of nullity appeals on behalf of a major international corporation in a comprehensive complex of actions in both instances of the Unified Patent Court and was thus able to get to know this new court system from day one.
