In July 2025, we joined forces with the Forschungsforum association to call for submissions for the Michael Breitenbach Dissertation Prize. This year's winners have now been honored at Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. SKM-IP supports the prize as a sponsor, underscoring its commitment to working closely with researchers and promoting scientists in the development of new technologies.
On December 4, 2025, the dissertation prizes for excellent research were awarded at the Stuba Academica of Paris Lodron University Salzburg. The focus was on the Michael Breitenbach Dissertation Prize, worth EUR 2,500, which recognizes outstanding research in the natural and life sciences as well as in digital and analytical sciences and is supported by the Research Forum Association at the University of Salzburg in collaboration with SKM-IP PartGmbB.

Both works are examples of excellent, internationally visible research and at the same time demonstrate the social and technological relevance of modern natural and life sciences as well as analytical and digital research.
SKM-IP has always worked closely with technology-driven companies and research institutions. For us, it is important not to start with intellectual property rights, but to promote innovation where it originates—in university research.
With the Michael Breitenbach Dissertation Award, we support outstanding scientists at the beginning of their careers, strengthen the exchange between research and practice, and contribute to the further development of technology and science beyond the traditional IP mandate.
Our partner Dr. Jan Krauß attended the award ceremony in Salzburg to congratulate the winners in person. Together withAssociateProfessor MichaelaRückl, Vice Rector for Teaching and Students at Paris Lodron University Salzburg, as well as representatives of the Research Forum and the faculties, he praised the outstanding achievements.
